Ex Nigeria International Victor Ikpeba has stated that Nigeria’s Super Eagles are not favourite for the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt despite been drawn in a decent group for the tournament holding in Egypt. The former Africa footballer of the year who spoke with www.brila.net called on Nigerians to simply support the team and rally round them ahead of hostilities at the tournament. He said Nigerians shouldn’t pressure the team with the believe that the Eagles are favourite for the AFCON. He identified the host nation Egypt, as well as Senegal and Morocco as teams ahead of Nigeria when it comes to chances of winning the title but backs the Eagles for a last four finish. “We are not favourites because I know people always think Super Eagles are favourites. We are not favourites in this tournament. We gave the host nation Egypt that have hosted and won it before. So they are the favourite Morocco and other teams. “But the Eagles have what it takes to get to the last four and if we get to the last four, it will be an achievement.” The Super Eagles are back again on the continent’s most prestigious tournament after missing out of the last two editions and are expected to scale through the group hurdle where they have been drawn alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi.
